Notes:  Before the introduction of proportional representation in 1921,a two‑ballot system of plurality election in single‑member districts was used.  For the 1906‑1918 elections, the figures reported here are parties’ percentages of the first‑ballot vote.  PP‑‑Progress  party (Fremskrittspartiet); ran as Anders Lange's party in 1973; Con--Conservatives  (Høyre);  Center‑‑agrarian Center party (Senterpartiet); ChrP‑‑Christian People's party (Kristelig Folkeparti);  Lib‑‑Liberals (Venstre); Labor‑‑Labor party (Det norske Arbeiderparti); CP‑‑Communist party (Norges Kommunistiske  Parti); SPP‑‑Socialist People's party (Sosialistisk Folkeparti; SV–Socialist Left party (Sosialistisk Venstreparti) in 1977 and thereafter; O‑‑Other parties.
